Dr. Jason Gonzales, DC graduated second in his class at Life Chiropractic College West (LCCW) in 2007. Two years later he completed his postgraduate studies to become an upper cervical specific chiropractor and began his practice at The Specific Chiropractic Center in Chico, CA.
Dr. Gonzales’s decision to become a chiropractor was rooted in his years of experience as a competitive cyclist. He often relied on chiropractic care to help him recover from injuries and stay at peak performance levels. When he was a sophomore at the University of Washington he made the decision to stop racing and focus full time on his future as a chiropractor.
He graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelors of arts in psychology before moving to California to attend chiropractic college. While at LCCW “Dr. J“, as he’s commonly called by his patients, had a natural attraction to courses in neurology, radiology, and physiology which served him well when he decided to become an upper cervical chiropractor.
Like many of his patients today, Dr. Gonzales wasn’t aware there were different specialties, like upper cervical, within chiropractic. He thought all chiropractors practiced in the same way. Once he began to understand the difference between upper cervical and general chiropractic care Dr. Gonzales knew he wanted to specialize in upper cervical chiropractic.
Dr. Gonzales has a passion for the detailed work required in the practice of upper cervical chiropractic and in 2016 he was asked to be a guest instructor at The Art of the Specific, the premier training program for upper cervical chiropractors in America, Europe, and Australia.
Outside the office Dr. Gonzales is a small town family man that loves spending time with his wife Amy, son Leo, and daughter Lucy. He and his family love the outdoors and you’re likely to find them at one of the many parks around Chico, CA.
